Kathleen Foxx is the owner and editor of Foxx Editorial, offering a variety of editing services for fiction projects as well as critiques for query packages. She’s a member of Editors Canada and the Editorial Freelancers Association. She is also a literary agent at The Rights Factory in Toronto, representing clients worldwide. Kat has also previously proofread books for a Canadian independent publisher based out of Toronto. She’s heavily involved in the writing community and also a co-host at the Story Nerd podcast, the host of the former #badasswriters podcast, the former audio editor for The Shit No One Tells You About Writing podcast, and a founder and organizer/host of #MoodPitch, a biannual pitch + moodboard event (no longer running because Twitter…). Additionally, she was previously the International Rep on the Board of Directors for Crime Writers of Canada (2022-23) and the Primary Co-chair for the Hamilton-Halton branch of Editors Canada (2022-23).

When she has time, she writes novels in genres such as domestic/psychological thriller, gothic thriller, and action/adventure and has several flash fiction pieces published in various online literary magazines/sites. She also has a second-place flash piece in Glittery Literary’s first anthology and an honourary mention in their second anthology.
Kat became an Assistant Literary Agent at The Rights Factory, a fabulous literary agency based in Toronto, Ontario, where she was previously an editorial assistant, learning from the immensely creative and insightful agents there. It’s important to note that she will never ask a literary client to pay for editing services (this is a huge red flag in agents!) and, to avoid a conflict of interest, she is unable to offer representation on manuscripts she has previously been hired as an editor to work on. That said, if you’ve worked with her on a manuscript but have a new manuscript to query that she has not been paid to assess or edit, you are welcome to query her with it (when she’s open to queries!). When not writing or editing, Kathleen enjoys reading, cooking, photography, travelling, digital marketing, and the beautiful Ontario outdoors (especially in summer). She’s a proud mom of five kids and two rescue kitties, Charlie and Ahsoka. Kat loves the hot months but also adores autumn, is pro-pumpkin spice, and loves wine, cheese, olives, and cuddly fur babies. No good day begins without a healthy dose of coffee!
